Bluegrass Fiddling for Suzuki Teachers

This course will explore components of Bluegrass fiddling including: historical aspects, jamming, and fiddle techniques such as slides, improvised licks, double-stops, chopping, and bowings.
Suzuki teachers will learn how to incorporate fiddle tunes into their studio with ease, following the format used in “Fiddlin’ Favorites,” a series of books written by Lisa and Derek Deakins and licensed by the International Suzuki Association. In-person participants will have the opportunity to observe Derek and Lisa teaching the fiddling class to students.
Tuition includes both volumes of “Fiddlin’ Favorites” and the recordings that accompany the books. Participants who register before June 1st, 2023 will receive the books and recordings before the course starts.

100% participation is required for course registration with the SAA.

Tuition is $325 and includes a $175 nonrefundable fee. There will be no refunds after May 15, 2023.
